Championship with a 79-72 Victory

The LSU Tigers have made history by reaching the National Championship for the first time in their women's basketball program. The No. 3-seeded team completed an impressive fourth quarter comeback against No. 1-seeded Virginia Tech to secure a 79-72 victory at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas. The Tigers were led by the outstanding performances of Alexis Morris and Angel Reese, who scored 27 and 24 points respectively. They will now face No. 2-seeded Iowa in the final, after the Hawkeyes defeated No. 1-seeded South Carolina in another thrilling game. The National Championship game will be broadcast on ABC at 3:30 p.m. CT on Sunday. The LSU Women's Basketball program will be looking to add to the athletics department's impressive 50 national championships. Head coach Kim Mulkey, who has previously won three NCAA Championships as a coach, will be hoping to add a fourth to her resume, and become the first coach in DI Women's Basketball history to win NCAA Championships at multiple schools.
